What is the difference between a Translator and an Interpreter?

Interpretation and Translation are two sides of the same coin.

An Interpreter specializes with spoken words in offices, courtrooms, medical and general settings. Via onsite, video or phone.

A translator concentrates on text. Projects like flyers, handbook, manuals to birth certificates.If it's written down, we'll translate it.

CJS TRANSLATION SERVICES,LLC

CJS Translation Services was founded by Marixendra Alvarez, and Co-founded by Syed Bari.

Who is Marixendra? I am a professional freelance translator with a passion for serving those with barriers to the English language, and with devotion to making a difference. Soon to be a BYU graduate in Business Management and a mother of 3 kids, who are the inspiration of the name of the agency. CJS stands for my children's names: (C)esar, (J)udilena, and (S)ebastian followed by Translation Services, as it is most commonly known to all people of different backgrounds when referring to Interpretation or Translation. They are my inspiration in everything I do. When I am not outgrowing my business and training our interpreters, I am attending community events and volunteering with non-profit organizations. I like meeting new people and contributing back to my community.

In 2022 we opened CJSTS, wanting to fix a huge problem. The lack of Trained Interpreters and the lack of agencies taking the time to do this. This is a big issue, we want to be a part of the solution. I have years of experience Interpreting for medical, court, and personal settings. I moved from Seattle, Washington to Wichita, KS putting myself through school to get my medical interpreter training and Court certificate . Most recently completed the Judicial Branch Court Interpreter Certificate.

While subcontracting with other agencies in town I met Syed Bari, an amazing individual and a WSU Graduate in Accounting. Syed also brings to the table 5 years of experience Interpreting and managing Interpreters. Syed wanted to join forces to fix the problem. It is with great honor we bring to Wichita, Kansas:

CJS Translation Services, LLC aims to provide trained interpreters in all languages, that will efficiently interpret meanings and be a voice for all LEP (Limited English Proficiency), individuals. My goal is to have certified interpreters throughout the medical and law field. I am now getting affiliated with a non-profit organization. To make necessary changes at the legislation level, to make sure that everyone is in-line and complying with the laws.
